King Swallowtail

Description:

A large swallowtail with a wingspan of 100–130 mm.

Habitat:

King Swallowtail (Papilio thoas) is found from the Texas border in the United States southward to Argentina. The caterpillars feed on plants of the black pepper family, Piperaceae

Notes:

It is extremely similar to the Giant Swallowtail (Helaclides cresphonte).
