5picklefamily, like I have already mentioned to you, please be checking ranges before you suggest IDs. The fungi you suggested is only found in the Northern Hemisphere, Australia is not in the Northern Hemisphere. You should only be suggesting IDs if both range and looks are similar. Not checking these things before you suggest an ID leads users to incorrect IDs.

Nice find, Mac. Awesome mushie. Good luck with the ID too. That's usually when I start to pull my hair out.
Yes Mac, I think so, very similar with H. miniata..
Thanks Phillip
What a beautiful spotting! Amazing vivid colors!
WOW
Hygrocybe miniata ?
Not sure on that one Megan
wow!
does it glow?
I think it is def. A hygrocybe spp. Maybe H. squamulosus... Probably need a scope fore this id. Nice series!
Added gill photo
Will see if I can get some photos of the gills today Jared
Any pictures of the gills. The stipe looks bulbous at the base which further makes this id difficult... See http://www.mushroomexpert.com/hygrocybe_...
Really interesting spotting. The color is amazing.
