This birds call is a very lovely flowing twitter, they are only a small member of the finch family but unmistakeable with their bright yellow wing patches and a face that looks like it has been dipped in red paint. They breed and winter in the UK.

Habitat:

seen at the side of the river Don on part of the five weirs walk in Sheffield.
