Neurothemis fluctuans
The male of this beautiful dragongly has a brownish-red thorax and abdomen. The wings are almost entirely brownish-red except for the tips and a thin tapering clear band around the hind margin from about midpoint. The extent of the coloured part of the wings is variable. See wing details on the last shot.

Lovely!
Thanks Satyen!
Wow! Amazing series!
Thanks for your comment Jemma. Christiane, I'm envious! But I'll be back too I hope :-)
Daniele,I am glad you got those shots in the gardens. I was on my way to India and I had a stop over for 6 hrs. Yup,the butterfly and orchid gardens are in those terminals. There is a cactus garden too but it was filled with smokers.
They had a city tour for 2 hrs. We were allowed to get off at the harbor. i spotted a cute Eurasian sparrow.
Unfortunately I did not see the botanic gardens . We drove past them.
I will be there again soon.. Great shot...
Unfortunately I'm already back Jemma! If I'm right the butterfly garden is at terminal 3 and the orchid garden is at terminal 2, and I always seem to be transiting through terminal 2! These two features are enough to make Changi the best airport in the world! Luckily I got to spot quite a few butterflies in Singapore's gardens and nature reserves.
I was assuming you are in Singapore right now :)
Daniel, the butterfly garden at Changi airport gave me quite a few good pics.Worth a visit.
Thank you mcaul6515 and Neil! These are quite approachable, it helps :-)
