anemone nemorosa
A plant only found in woodlands and especially mear streams or in boggy areas, is slightly toxic and can cause mild stomach upset if eaten and can also sometimes cause a skin reaction if touched. you can definitely see the resemblance to the buttercup of which family it is from and it has a delicate pink tinge to the underside as well as numerous yellow stamens in the centre.
seen in woodlands growing at the side of a stream. whitely woods Sheffield.
