Nymphalis antiopa
A lovely butterfly of the woodlands, Nymphalis antiopa is characterized as a chestnut-colored butterfly with cream edges, cream triangles across the top of the forewing, and blue dots before the cream edges on the hindwings.
Found skipping throughout the woodlands.
Lifer! First butterfly of the year! This individual was not the first butterfly, but this species was, as I had seen it earlier on my walk.
