Description:

Ostraciidae is a family of squared, bony fish belonging to the order Tetraodontiformes, closely related to the pufferfishes and filefishes. Fish in the family are known variously as boxfishes, cofferfishes, cowfishes and trunkfishes. It contains about 24 extant species in seven extant genera. This picture shows a cute juvenile, very small in size around 1.5 cm, looks like a dice.

Habitat:

Shallow reefs among sea grasses and soft corals
