Harpia harpyja
Harpy eagles are one of the largest eagles in the world. They have talons that are the same size as a grizzles bear's claw. They are found in Central America, in the tree tops of the rainforest. They eat small monkeys and other small creatures found in the canopy. It's because they are know eat these things that the natives think they can pick up small children and because of this fear they were hunted. This is one of many reasons why they are endangered.
I took this picture in Zoo Miami, Florida.
