Wild Rose

Rosa sp? acicularis?

Description:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosa_acicul... is the most similar Canadian wild rose but not likely this one I saw in Tasmania. The thorns on this one are curved and red, not like the one in this reference.

Habitat:

Along the coastal heath area of east coast Tasmania. Introduced?

Notes:

Not the same as our Nootka Wild Rose here on the coast of BC. But very similar, except with curved thorns and flowers are in a cluster while Nootka Rose has singular flowers on the end of the branch.
