Eastern Chipmunk

Tamias striatus

Description:

It's so seldom I see one of these little guys out in the woods. I was really excited to see one making a go of it in the wild and not urbanized, living off trash and human habitations.

Habitat:

The eastern chipmunk lives in deciduous wooded areas and urban parks throughout the eastern United States and southern Canada.

Notes:

Spotted along the trail at the Allatoona Pass Battlefield.
