American Alligator

Alligator mississippiensis

Description:

When the jaws are closed, the edge of the upper jaws covers the lower teeth which fit into depressions in the upper jaw. This very large alligator was motionless at the edge of the water.

Habitat:

Gator Alley, a trail through a city park on Daphne Bay.
