Apostlebird

Struthidea cinerea

Description:

Overall mid to dark grey with dark grey bill, long dark grey tail. Finch-like in appearance, but much larger - length probably 8-10".

Habitat:

Mainly seen on the ground or in low bushes/tree branches near the ground.

Notes:

These were seen around Dubbo Zoo, so were probably accustomed to people, and allowed me to get fairly close for these pictures. I think it is an Apostlebird, though I have seen a few pictures of Apostlebirds that look nothing like this - much browner.
