Description:

Medium-sized (25 cm), green and red. Adults: long red crested with yellow tip, green body with red wings and tail black, yellow throats. Males: malar stripe red, beige stripes on the side of the stomach and abdomen (females; thicker). Primary feather inner leaves white spots. Young birds: red crown without. Iris reddish brown, brown top half and bottom half yellow, green legs.

Habitat:

Rather common bird to a height of 900 m. Stay in the canopy of primary forest and secondary forests, gardens, beaches and bush. Cluck like a short. Eat ants and termites, including eggs and tempayaknya. In Central Java was recorded in September. Two grains of white eggs are laid on the rotten tree
