Orange pores

Favolaschia calocera

Description:

Found in moist river gully with a mix of local and imported species.

Gully is permanently moist even in drought. I recently discovered that this is in the agaric family which means there are pored fungi in with the gilled fungi and boletes which are usually pored contain some gilled members !!! Kingdom: Fungi Division: Basidiomycota Class: Basidiomycetes Order: Agaricales Family: Mycenaceae Genus: Favolaschia Species: F. calocera

Thanks injica, Dan. I think some of the debris is curled up springtails. They seem to be on all fungi right now.

Thanks Mayra, joaquins1, Phillip. I should have done better on the underside but the tops make an interesting change.
