Brian ,Hot weather brings them out. We had an unusually warm day yesterday. The king snake, rattle snake and Gopher snake at this place constitute a circle of life. The king snake eats the rattle snake. The rattle snake eats the gopher snake.

Hema I believe this is a fascinating pit viper species (Crotalus oreganus) Common names: western rattlesnake, northern Pacific rattlesnake, Pacific rattlesnake.
