collared Dove

Streptopelia decaocto

Description:

Originally arriving from the middle East in the 1950s Collared Doves are now widespread and often found in pairs, the female of this pair isn't daft as she used the Males tail as an umberella from the rain, the poor Male kept shaking his head to get the rain off and really looked fed up by the last photo.

Habitat:

seen in the wooded area of Rutland water nature reserve
