California Fiddler

Uca crenulata

Description:

As seen in pictures

Habitat:

In burrows in sandymud in bays and estuaries; near high tide line.

Notes:

Seen at low tide. This crab was visiting many holes or burrows & sometimes another crab would pop out to see who it was. The 3rd picture was one that popped out & is a female I believe. The one large claw is only in the males. Very Macho. Notice the red eye.
