Box Turtle

Description:

Found this little guy on the road at the entrance to my college campus. He would have had to turn around, though, due to the curb, so I picked him up and placed him in the grass on the other side. But not without snapping a couple pictures! You know, the universe sits on the backs of infinite turtles.

Notes:

The Eastern Box Turtle is the State Reptile of Tennessee. Lucky me!

Whenever you find a turtle crossing the road, remember to put it on the side that it is going to. I've seen many turtles get put on the side they came from and they go back on the road and are in danger again because they're determined to get to the other side. Otherwise, nice spotting! (:
