Description:

Medium-sized (40-50mm) butterfly, robust, and fast-flying.

Habitat:

Fynbos, Karoo, and Arid Savannah. Larva shelter under stones next to their foodplant (Aspalathus spinosa, Phylica olaefolia, Euclea undulata) attended by Crematogaster ants. Flies Aug-Dec and Jan-Apr.

Notes:

This subspecies is restricted to a small area of the Western Cape. This is a Monotypic species.
