bird's nest fern

Asplenium (Neottopteris) nidus

Description:

Singapore is in the midst of a terrible drought. Several species are not faring well at this (and other) locations(s). This includes fishtail palms (Caryota mitis) and the specimens depicted here, bird's nest ferns. Of the dozens of these species I observed, it seemed that at least 75% of them were dead. For a look at a healthy bird's nest fern in Singapore (a couple of months prior), look here http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/153...

Habitat:

MacRitchie Reservoir Park, Singapore.

Notes:

Map marker is not precise.
