The black capped chickadee is a small bird native to the Americas. It is the state bird of Massachusetts and Maine.

This chickadee was seen on Loon Mountain. They are very tame and will readily feed out of one's hand.

The chickadees in this location are fed often. The site receives many visitors, as it is directly off of a main ski slope. The birds (black-capped chickadees and red breasted nuthatches) will land on anyone's hand if they provide birdseed.
how did you get it to land on your hand?!!!!
