Guttural toad

Amietophrynus gutturalis

Description:

Snout to vent length, app. 7 cm. A species of toad in the Bufonidae family.

Habitat:

Grass area on sand. 50 meters to Mlawula river.

Notes:

It can live in a variety of environments, and is very adaptable. It has no major predators and does not suffer much from habitat loss.

Interesting. It looks more simialr to the Eastern Leopard frog in this book http://books.google.co.mz/books?id=A_IwB... Unf. it does not really describe how to tell them apart. Is there a way that you know of Ashley?

It is a Guttural Toad. Patches on the snout, paired patches down the back, and an interrupted bar between the eyes.
