Description:

Tiny beetle. Black body with a reddish head and reddish 1/4 of body (tail end). Larvae of Dusky Lady Beetles are covered with waxy, white tufts and resemble mealybugs or small caterpillars (as per Bugguide). Feeds on small insects like aphids.

Habitat:

Suburban backyard.
