var. lanceolata. Smaller, upright plant. Green, lanceolate shaped leaves with slight serration. Flowers grow in a cluster at the top of a stem. Purple above and whitish below. Edible. Medicinal.

Young leaves and stems may be eaten raw, whole plant can be boiled, whole plant may be used medicinally.
