Description:

Pigeon-sized shorebird with long bill as shown. Easily confused with Short-billed Dowitcher and similar birds.

Habitat:

Wading and probing in shallow lake.

Notes:

Spring shorebird migrations in the midwest U.S. are quite spectacular.
