Green Frog

Lithobates clamitans

Habitat:

Wooded freshwater wetland.

Notes:

Maybe I'm overthinking this, but I can't quite figure this one out. The main possibilities I've come up with are Green Frog and Wood Frog, but neither seems like a perfect fit. Maybe someone who knows frogs better can figure it out.

Yes, you're right. From this website: http://www.nj.gov/dep/fgw/ensp/fieldguid... it appears to be a female green frog as your frog doesn't have the distinctive mask of a wood frog and the green frogs can be brown and highly variable. Scroll down and compare the frog descriptions.

Thanks, Sarah. I'm not sure I've seen a bullfrog with a dorsolateral ridge that far down it's back, though.
