Black and yellow grasshoppers. These nymphs were somewhat abundant on most of the vegetation close to the river. The first two pictures are of small nymphs. The development of wing pads is visible in a larger nymph in the 3rd picture. Some were also infested with red mites.
Lacandon Jungle, Las Guacamayas Eco-Lodge, Lacantun River, Chiapas.
Acrididae, Romaleinae, Taeniopoda sp.. Most probably not Equus as indicated in the link, there are many others found in Mexico and nymphs are always tricky to ID.
