Cuban zephyr lily

Zephyranthes rosea

Description:

Lovely pink flowered monocot with six petals; six stamens; and a slender style that divides three-fold. I like its name, sounds so ancient. xD

Habitat:

It was planted throughout our campus.

Notes:

Toxic alkaloids like lycorine are found in the bulbs of these plants which are also present in other members of its Genus.
