Viburnum lantana


This is a deciduous shrub; growing up to some 5m in height; producing bright red somewhat elongated fruits, drupes.


Found on edges of woods on slopes of Jura mountain range.


Fruit is mildly toxic, provoking gastroenteric problems.

You've got an ID - great ! and what a lovely common name. I kept looking for plants with "lantana-like leaves". Good, I've learnt something todya-and the flowers are white.

Looks so familiar....I think this plant would have white or purple flowers !? You'll have to tell me if I am right - next season.
