Manis tetradactyla
Pangolins are notoriously difficult creatures to find and especially the arboreal rainforest species therefore i was thrilled to be able to photograph this individual spotted from the Canopy Walkway in Ghana's Kakum National Park.

Amazing spotting Adam! Congratulations!!! Thank you for sharing :)
Congratulations Adam, your very special spotting of a Long-tailed Pangolin has been chosen to illustrate World Pangolin Day:
"Today is World Pangolin Day, an global event taking place to raise awareness about these unique scaly mammals. It's a competition no one would wish to have, but pangolins are sitting above elephants and rhinos as the most trafficked mammals in the world. All eight species of pangolins (four from Africa, four from Asia) are now also listed under Appendix I—the highest level of protection—of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), banning all commercial trade in these species. In spite of this pangolins continue be victims of the bush meat and traditional medicine trades.
