northern water snakes

Nerodia sipedon

Description:

Baby Northern Water Snakes, csc code:NERSIPSIP, sighting type: UNC and OTC (or On The Swim, more like it), Two babies (first 3 pics is number one, and last 2 pics are number two)

Habitat:

creek

Notes:

Observed by my husband, Daniel, and me at around 4.30 pm. First 3 pictures is baby snake number one and following 2 pictures is baby snake number two. These little guys surfaced from under leaf litter covering the bottom of the creek, looked around just breaking the surface of the water for a while, then swam to what I assume is the momma's den or at least a better hiding place, which was in the middle of the creek and is pictured in the third photograph, first one and then the other.
