Description:

A widespread species in the British Isles although sadly in great decline :-( some possible reasons include parasitc beetles that have spread from the continent due to climate change (see reference). wingspan between 4.5cm-6cm between male and female species with the female being the larger.

Habitat:

seen in a field near the River Eden in Appleby in westmorland.
