Description:

Hanging Bracts of a Heliconia. These plants are pollenated by Hummingbirds and are an important refuge in the jungle for many small creatures, including frogs, lizards, and insects.

Habitat:

Lacandon Jungle, Las Guacamayas Eco-Lodge, Lacantun River, Chiapas.

Notes:

There is a small lizard in the background that I didn't see until I looked at the pictures.
