Eastern Skunk Cabbage

Symplocarpus foetidus

Habitat:

Fen along canal

Notes:

This natural fen area contains hundreds of skunk cabbage plants. When fully grown, they remind me of something from prehistoric times. They are also great at attracting insects due to their pungent odor.
