Description:

This Butterfly was very active in the shade and leaf litter. Something has taken a bite out of it's wing :( Family Nymphalidae.

Habitat:

Lacandon Jungle, Las Guacamayas Eco-Lodge, Lacantun River, Chiapas.

Thank you Luis! I was just looking for the ID! I wish you could have come too! We should plan a double family trip next year! I went to see the Canto de La Selva, love the forest all around it! We ended up staying a couple of nights at the Guacamayas. It is a great place too! We also went into the Montes Azules by boat and to Bonampak and Yaxchilan. Also to see a really neat waterfall called Las Golondrinas.
