Bald Eagle

Haliaeetus leucocephalus

Description:

An eagle getting pestered by the local Red Tailed Hawks. I'm not sure if it was a juvenile Bald Eagle or a Golden Eagle. It was hard to see against the bright sky that day. Amazing to watch the battle though.

Notes:

I was out in Saltese Flats east of Spokane Valley about 1:00 PM

The white on the axillary region is indicative of young Bald Eagle. Young Goldens usually have white in the wings and at the base of the tail.
