Goatweed leafwing butterfly

Anaea andria

It a medium sized butterfly that was found flying around. The butterfly was almost hard to see because of the extreme camouflage of it's backside. The leaf design is not as camouflage as the indian ones but sure does trick you.The inside is an bright orange with black markings. The butterfly also can play dead if touched. The wings of these butterflies are hard due to the speed as which they fly in and the long life span of the butterfly.

Semi-urban areas as well as parks and sunny areas.

Life span: 5-9 months
