The spider species Trichonephila senegalensis, commonly known as Banded-legged Golden Orb-weaver, belongs to the genus Trichonephila, in the family Araneidae. Trichonephila senegalensis spiders have been sighted 3 times by contributing members.
Golden silk orb-weavers are widespread in warmer regions throughout the world, with species in Australia, Asia, Africa (including Madagascar), and the Americas.
