Smooth Axil-bristle Lichen

Description:

A gray thallus with small lobes at the margins. The green apothecia is common with this foliose lichen, otherwise the apothecia can be reddish brown.

Habitat:

Spotted on oak tree bark. Open trees next to a drainage area. Somewhat common across eastern North America. Typically found on hardwood bark in open areas.
