Acanthocoris scabrator
Acanthocoris scabrator (Fabricius, 1803) (Coreidae; Coreinae; Acanthocorini) is also known as Squash Bug or Squash Coreid Bug. Adult Acanthocoris scabrator (12-15 mm) occur in groups and are mostly found feeding on non-crop host plants such as Ipomea and nightshades. They feed only occasionally on crops such as pepper and are not considered pests. Although a related species, Acanthocoris scaber (Linnaeus) 1763, has been reported as a major pest in Southeast Asia.
