Lophodytes cucullatus
The male of this species has a black head with a white crest, slender black beak and the yellow eyes. The upper body is black with white posterior markings while the breast and underbody are white, and the breast has a black stripe across the upper breast. The signs are chestnut brown in color.
found in wooded ponds lakes and rivers
It is interesting that these two drakes would be so close together. Sighted from further away, they are sometimes difficult to tell apart.
