Red Tailed Hawk

Description:

Large brown and white hawk with reddish markings and bands on tail.

Habitat:

Open country such as fields, mountains, plains, and urban areas.

Notes:

Fun Facts: 1. Although large in size the largest Red Tailed hawk weighs about only 3lbs. 2. When courting these birds will often lock talons as they spiral downward eventually pulling apart before reaching the ground. 3.
