This article talks about the Big Sandy Cray that is rapidly declining in Kentucky and almost disappeared in other regions. It is a freshwater crayfish. Its hard to say which species of crayfish it is, I'm no good with aquatic inverts. Thanks for the information.

Great spotting ! hope she got to the other side OK !! I noticed the damp patch on the road under the tail. Is this a fresh water crayfish ?
