Megalodacne sp.
Megalodacne Hero Beetles usually eat bracket fungi and lay their eggs on the fungus they eat. I found this specimen on a small mushroom unexpectedly.
This spotting was in Cumberland Gap National Historical Park.

Thanks Mayra! It's pretty amazing. I believe the beetles aid in spore dispersal for different types of fungi. I have seen them on Reishi/Shelf Fungi, but never on a small mushroom before.
Beautiful!!
