Kea

Nestor notabilis

Description:

Keas are extremely common birds found in New Zealand. Though Kiwis are their national bird, my family and I saw more Keas than Kiwis. In fact, we didn't see any Kiwis! Anyway, I loved to see this little bird playing around underneath my family RV, while we tried to drive out. It was cute.

Notes:

My family and I were on a road ship in New Zealand. We took a walk and when we came back- poof! There he was. In the second photo you can catch a glimpse of our RV. I just love the way the birds beak curves.
