Description:

each fish 4 to 6 inches long

Habitat:

spotted from residential dock in the Indian River

Notes:

These small fish form very large schools and travel seemingly aimlessly just below the surface of the river. When threatened by predators they leap en masse in an attempt to escape.

Thanks, Gerardo. This is a pretty common sight in the spring as the water warms and and the larger predators become more active.
