Heliodoxa rubinoides
The Fawn-breasted Brilliant, is a species of hummingbird. It is found in South American countries such as Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru and lives in tropical climates
This was photographed with 4 flash guns, 3 positioned wirelessly around the target area, and a 4th on camera to use as a master to the other flash units. There was no post production required, I did not expose the background in any way thus making it black. My flash guns were powered down to 1/64 power level each, thus only lighting the subject for 1/20,000 of a second freezing wing motion. This was during the late evening when it was raining, the star like dots that appear in the image is rain being reflected by the flash guns freezing the drops mid air.

Great job :-)
Wow.
Fantastic work.
wow...Beautiful!
Thanks guys! I really enjoy doing high speed hummingbird photography, and I think that doing it in the rain will be my twist without exposing the background. I really enjoy this look, and the effect seems to be quite unique! I'll be back in Ecuador in November helping with a workshop teaching these methods :-)
