marine iguana

Amblyrhynchus cristatus

Description:

A male Galápagos marine iguana is nodding frequently (see video) - probably to get the attention of a nearby female, who is not interested, however. Notice how she is lifting her tale. In the background, there is a passing Sally Lightfoot crab. These iguanas were spotted on Santiago Island (James Bay).
