Argiope Aurantia
Also known as the corn spider, this female 19mm-28mm. Corn spiders trap flying insects like aphids, flies, grasshoppers, wasps, and bees in their web.
To try and protect themselves from winds and storms, they usually live in sunny fields or tall plants, like this cactus. Their webs can be up to 2 ft in diameter. They can be found in Hawaii, Canada Mexico, and inland U. S. states.
This spider was spotted near my house, but its been seen at S. D. Spady.
