Description:

Part of the nymphalidae family, these have beautifully marked uneven edges to their wings. The dorsal view is bright but when the wings are closed the ventral view is like a crumpled leaf with a small white 'c' on the lower wing giving it its common name. wingspan around 4.5cm.

Habitat:

seen in an open meadow next to woodland along with 7 other species of butterfly.
